We offer a complete range of radiation monitoring equipment. The most suitable radiation monitor will have the following characteristics:
- It should have a uniform response to all types and energies of radiation.
- Its response should be independent of its orientation relative to the radiation.
- It should have a response that is not affected by the dose rate.
- It should be capable of measuring a wide range of dose or dose rates.
- It should be portable and robust.
Typically a balance of these characteristics is achieved appropriate to the application. Personal dosimetry is vital for safe working. A suggested combination for a two man radiography team is one radiation monitor, with one in reserve for emergencies, but with each man being issued with a direct read dosimeter such as the SV Bleeper and also an audio-visual bleeper such as the Roffey MkIII.
