Radiography Isotopes
Cobalt 60
trefoil

Cobalt 60 is a high energy source. This makes it suitable for use in situations where steelworking thickness is in the range of 50-120mm. Its long half-life makes it a good investment.

Half-life: 5.27 Years
Mode of decay: Beta particles and gamma radiation 1.173 to 1.333 MeV
Chemical Properties: Dense metal, metallic.
Optimum working thickness: 50mm to 150mm steel
Exposure Rate (1Ci at 1 metre): 13 mSv/Hr
