The red flashing Led and sounder pulse relative to the radiation field the instrument is present in. As the field increases the rate at which the instrument pulses increases. A Roffey MkIII is the perfect instrument to have in a jacket pocket as a passive device that will grab an individuals attention if the radiation field suddenly increases.
